Psalm 16: The Lord is faithful

"I bless the LORD who gives me counsel; in the night also my heart instructs me. I have set the LORD always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure. For you will not abandon my soul to sheol, or let Your holy one see corruption. You make known to me the path of life; in Your presence there is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore." Psalm 16:7-11

Our pastor read this chapter at this evenings Prayer service, and it hit me. I love how it shows how our hearts can be glad and rejoicing all because God is there for us! It doesn't matter what we are going through, we can know that God is at our right hand, and will never abandon us. This is why we can rejoice in the LORD in all circumstances! Let us bring praises to His name, for at His right hand are pleasures forevermore!! PRAISE GOD!!

"Let the Waters Rise" by Mikeschair

I absolutely love the words to this song! Here they are!

I don't know where to begin/It's like my worlds caving in/And I try but I can't control my fear/Where do I go from here
Sometimes it's so hard to pray/When you feel so far away/But I am willing to go where You want me to/God I trust You

There's a raging sea/right in front of me/wants to pull me in/bring me to my knees/So let the waters rise/if you want them to/I will follow you/I will follow you!

I will swim in the deep/Cuz you'll be next to me/Your in the eye of the storm and the calm of the sea/Your never out of reach
God you know where I've been/And you were there with me then/You were faithful before you'll be faithful again/I'm holding your hand

There's a raging sea/right in front of me/wants to pull me in/bring me to my knees/So let the waters rise/if you want them to/I will follow you/I will follow you!

God your love is enough/You will pull me through/I'm holding on to you
God your love is enough/I will follow you/I will follow you!

There's a raging sea/right in front of me/wants to pull me in/bring me to my knees/So let the waters rise/if you want them to/I will follow you/I will follow you! I WILL FOLLOW YOU!

I absolutely love the message this song is crying out! It's saying that we will go through anything God puts us through, because of what He went through for us! God's love is enough to get us through all our struggles! Sometimes it IS so hard to pray because you feel so far away from God, but He is right there, and we should always be willing to go where He wants us to! Let us all strive to follow Him!!! He is right there with us even in our darkest hours!! Here's a link to a place to listen to this beautiful song! Just copy and paste it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzV_O927Vi0

God, Your love is enough! I WILL FOLLOW YOU!

How great is the steadfast love of the LORD!

"He is jealous for me, loves like a hurricane, I am a tree, bending beneath the weight of His wind and mercy. When all of the sudden, I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory, and I realize just how beautiful You are and how great Your affections are for me. Oh, how He loves us!"
~ Words from "How He Loves" by the David Crowder Band

It's amazing to think of how much God loves us! Our God is a jealous for us! Think about how amazing that is! He can take away the afflictions we face just by being their with us to calm us in the storm! Psalm 33 says, "He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the LORD!" We can be assured that our God loves us, and that should definitely comfort us! We know that He will never leave us or forsake us because He loves us! Even when we are unlovable, God still loves us! Praise God!!!

Lamentations 2:22-25

"The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 'The LORD is my portion,' says my soul, 'therefore I will hope in him.' The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him."

This is a very encouraging few verses all by itself, but if you read what's around it, it's even better! The writer is lamenting the destruction of Israel as they are taken into captivity! In the middle of all his cries and difficulties, he adds this! Would we be able to say that if we were in his situation? I highly doubt it! It is amazing to think how faithful our Lord is! His mercies are new every morning! Whatever we are going through in this life, the Lord is always faithful and good to those who wait on Him!! GOD IS GOOD!!!

Psalm 121

Psalm 121:1-2, "I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD who made heaven and earth"

This simple but powerful verse has been my favorite verse in the Bible for a long time now. It tells us the simple truth of how powerful God is, and that He is with us to help us. I have created this blog to post encouraging scriptures, songs, or quotes that I come across that can be an encouragement to myself along with others. I hope you are encouraged by what I post. Let us all lift our eyes to the maker of heaven and earth; the sustainer of our lives!
